Custom Appliqué Digitizing Services

Appliqué files planned stage by stage, from placement to finished edge

Appliqué combines fabric and thread. The design is stitched in stages while a piece of fabric is placed, secured and trimmed, so the file has to tell the machine where the fabric goes, how it is held down and how the edge is finished. We hand-digitize those stages in-house as part of our Embroidery Digitizing service.

You receive the digital embroidery file, with the stitching stages and machine stops agreed for your process. We do not supply fabric pieces, cut shapes or finished garments. Anything beyond the embroidery file, such as a cutting file or additional sizes, is only included if your quote says so.

Simple lettering starts from $5. Appliqué work is priced by complexity, so send your design and we will confirm your quote and estimated turnaround.

What we plan for

What shapes an appliqué file

  • Fabric and border

The base fabric and the appliqué material affect how the fabric is held down and how wide the border needs to be.

  • Shape and corners

Very small, narrow or sharply angled shapes are hard to trim and cover cleanly, so we may suggest simplifying them.

  • Size and sequence

Finished size decides whether a shape suits fabric, and the order of the stages decides how smoothly your operator can run it.

How it works

Your artwork, digitized for appliqué.

  1. Send artwork and materials

Upload your design and tell us the finished size, base fabric, appliqué material and machine format, where you know them. Anything missing can be confirmed in your quote.

  2. Confirm scope and price

We review the complexity and requirements, then confirm the price and estimated turnaround before you go ahead with the order.

  3. Staged digitizing

Placement, tack-down, finishing border and stops are set by hand for the agreed application, then checked before the files are delivered to you.

  4. Receive and test your file

You receive the agreed files and test them on your own fabric. If the digitizing does not stitch as it should, we correct it within the original scope.

FAQ

Appliqué digitizing questions

Do you supply the fabric, cut pieces or a cutting file?

No. The deliverable is the digitized embroidery file. A cutting file or other extras are included only if your quote says so.

Can any logo become appliqué?

Not always. Designs with larger, simpler shapes suit it best; fine detail is usually stitched over or beside the fabric. We review your artwork and advise before you go ahead.

Can lettering be appliqué?

Yes, bold lettering is a common use. Very narrow letter strokes are hard to cover cleanly, so we check the letter widths.

Can I get several sizes?

The quote states which sizes are included. Additional sizes need separately confirmed terms.

Which formats can I request?

DST, PES, EMB and other common machine formats. Tell us yours and we confirm it in your quote.

What if the file does not stitch as it should?

Test it on your intended materials. We correct digitizing that does not stitch as it should within the original scope. Changes to artwork, size, materials or application need separately confirmed terms.
