A cap front is not a flat garment panel. The crown curves, a center seam can interrupt the stitching area, and the visor limits how the frame reaches the design. We hand-digitize every cap file in-house as part of our Embroidery Digitizing service, setting stitch direction, underlay, density and sequence for the cap rather than reusing a file made for a flat garment.
Simple lettering starts from $5. Other artwork is priced by complexity, so send your logo, cap style and finished size and we will confirm your quote and estimated turnaround. New to caps? Read our guide to why cap embroidery is different.

Why caps are different
On a flat garment the fabric lies still under the hoop. On a cap the crown curves and, where there is a center seam, it changes how stitches sit, so direction, underlay and order are planned around it.
The front panel offers limited height. Fine lettering that reads well on a chest logo can fill in or lose definition at cap size, so small elements are simplified for the finished dimensions.
Structured, unstructured and trucker caps give stitches different support. Tell us the style; if it is not chosen yet, we note the assumption in the quote.
How it works
Upload your logo and tell us the cap style, placement, finished size and machine format, where you know them. Anything missing can be confirmed in your quote.
We review the complexity and requirements, then confirm the price and estimated turnaround before you go ahead with the order.
Stitch paths, underlay, density and sequence are set by hand for the cap front, with the seam and available sewing area in mind, then checked before delivery.
You receive the agreed files and test them on your cap. If the digitizing does not stitch as it should, we correct it within the original scope.

Sometimes it can be adapted, but a file digitized for a flat garment normally needs reviewing for stitch direction, underlay, density and size first. Send it with your cap details and the quote will say whether it should be adjusted or rebuilt.
That depends on the cap style, panel and your machine setup, so we do not promise one number. Tell us the finished width and height you want; if it is too large for the area, we will say so in the quote.
Often, but legibility depends on the lettering style, height and cap fabric, so we do not promise a fixed minimum. We review the lettering and suggest changes if it will not read clearly.
Raised lettering and logos are covered on our 3D Puff Digitizing page. Puff suits bold shapes, so we review the artwork first.
No. We supply digitized embroidery files only.
Test it on your intended cap. If the digitizing does not stitch as it should, we correct it within the original scope. Changes to artwork, size, placement or application need separately confirmed terms.
